I recommend visiting around sunset. There are two reasons for this. First, while it depends on the season, Hanoi can get really hot 🥵. I visited in late May, and the temperature was close to 40°C. That’s why I think the evening, when the temperature drops even slightly, is the best time to go. Second, the sunset over West Lake is absolutely breathtaking! Many tourists and locals were there to watch the sunset. I happened to arrive late in the day and had a wonderful experience. There’s just one thing I want you to be careful about. Near the entrance, an elderly woman approached tourists wearing shorts and asked them to rent a cloth to cover up. But in reality, someone was able to enter without one, so I’m not sure if it was really necessary. Of course, renting the cloth costs money. Fortunately, I wasn’t wearing shorts, so if you go, you’ll be just like me.
