★★★★★2 months agoLisbon Cathedral is definitely worth visiting for anyone interested in ecclesiastical architecture, as the church reflects several different architectural styles that have evolved over the centuries. The museum exhibits are also very interesting and well worth exploring. That said, I did find it somewhat unusual that there is an admission fee to enter an active house of worship.

★★★★★3 months agoOne of Lisbon’s oldest and most recognizable landmarks, the Sé de Lisboa cuts an imposing Romanesque silhouette over the Alfama district with its twin towers and fortress-like facade that hints at the city’s long and layered history. Entry to the main interior is free, and stepping inside reveals a beautifully austere nave with thick stone columns and a quiet, contemplative atmosphere that feels like a genuine escape from the busy streets of Alfama just outside.
