We used the Funiculaire de Fourvière to get up to the basilica, and it was absolutely the right choice. The ride is quick, easy, and saves you from a very steep uphill walk. It lets you arrive fresh and actually enjoy the visit rather than feeling worn out before you even get there. Once you’re done at the basilica, you can simply walk down at your leisure and take in the views, which is a much more pleasant experience than trekking up the hill. Simple, efficient, and very worthwhile. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Fourvière.

Great Funiculaire to reach Fourvieres This is an attraction in itself and I always do it whilst in Lyon. I found it really nice and unique and also the view are great from the top of the hill. Highly recommended.
