For anyone with an interest in photography, both cameras and exhibits, this is a must see. Till August 2026 the work of the late Vivian Maier is on display. The building itself is impressive, somewhat forbidding also, since it was a 19th century prison. The building and its sombre history, and mug shots of imprisoned poor people 😢, adds complexity and nuance. Highly recommended.

I'm so glad we ventured out in the rain just to view this beautiful gallery / museum. The curation and display of the photography exhibitions were so thoughtfully done. Our favourite exhibition was Spectrum and we were pleasantly surprised by the views from the museum space on the upper levels. Definitely worth a visit, it's free!!
