This is an essential visit. I do not remember the last time I was so moved by a museum. The courage, solidarity and strength of the halmoni’s in the face of their tremendous suffering is deeply palpable in each exhibit and learning this history of these survivors especially in the face of continued global erasure and denial feels like a small act one can take to end violence against women. I am so grateful this museum exists, may these women and their descendants, may we all, may the world know peace.
