We visited Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre on 26/03/2025 during our Vietnam honeymoon trip and it was a wonderful cultural experience. The performance was unique, entertaining and beautifully showcased traditional Vietnamese folklore and history through the art of water puppetry. The live music and singing added great authenticity to the show and even without understanding the language, the storytelling was easy to follow and enjoyable. The puppeteers’ skill and coordination were truly impressive, especially considering they perform behind the scenes in water throughout the show. The theatre is well organized, centrally located, and a great way to experience Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage. Highly recommended for both tourists and families visiting Hanoi. A memorable and uniquely Vietnamese experience that shouldn’t be missed! 🇻🇳🎭✨

Very nice experience. The folk music was amazing and the water puppets were cool. There was lots of humour in the show I watched which was a pleasant surprise. When getting a ticket I went to the ticket booth in person on the day around 5pm and was able to book a seat for the 8pm show. I would recommend getting the translated audio if you prioritise knowing everything about the story being told, however if you just want to watch the show and listen to music and make up your own/try to follow along it is still enjoyable without the headset.
